The regulatory and policy challenges ahead for low and no. Laura Willoughby MBE from Club Soda in conversation with Rob Fink, Co-chair of ANBA’ Europe’s regulatory affairs committee
Alcohol-Free is still suffering a hangover of delayed decisions about labelling descriptors. Alcohol-free drinks still attract import duty, but alcoholic ones do not. Low alcohol is still impacted by discussion about tax rather than health and the whole sector will be affected by political jitters about alibi marketing. Could alcohol-free end up more heavily regulated than alcohol? Which government department cares, health, Defra or BEIS? And should alcohol-free brands wade into the discussion about obesity, mental health and addiction? Laura and Rob invite you to join in this discussion about the challenges still facing the sector and how brands can work together to ensure there that the sector is not dragged down by unnecessary regulation.
